Lecture rooms branded by the Pietrucha Group at the Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology.

On 27th February 2023, at the Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering, two lecture rooms branded by the Pietrucha Group were inaugurated. As part of the event a special lecture was organized, dedicated to the use of vinyl sheet piles in hydrotechnical projects and water industry.

The Pietrucha Group, polish family company with over 60-years’ history, operating in the civil engineering sector, finalized another stage of cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology. On 27 February, representatives of the company have joined the authorities of the Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering and inaugurated two lecture rooms branded by the Pietrucha Group.

Under the agreement, the company modernized and refurbished the lecture rooms and the adjacent corridor as well as provided sets of didactic materials dedicated to the company’s solutions for the civil engineering sector, focusing on the environmental aspects of the Pietrucha Group products, including lower carbon footprint and minimized impact on the surrounding.

Alongside the inauguration ceremony, a special lecture was organized, dedicated to innovative applications of vinyl sheet piles in hydrotechnical projects. During the meeting, Dawid Jasiński, Business Development Manager, made the students acquainted with the differences between vinyl and steel sheet piles when designing constructions. Further, he discussed various types of water retention structures and presented an overview of completed projects using vinyl sheet piles to construct hydrotechnical infrastructure.

The Pietrucha Group specializes in the production of geotechnical solutions for the civil engineering sector, which are used in road and rail construction, flood protection and water retention projects as well as embankment reinforcement. The company is a manufacturer of vinyl sheet piles, geogrids and modular flood-protection barriers, which are distributed to over 40 countries. The company has been constantly working on the development and implementation of innovative technologies and new or enhanced products.

In order to actively support the civil engineering research, the Pietrucha Group has been actively partnering with universities of technology in Łódź and Silesia and the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow. The company is also cooperating with research institutions including the Silesian Centre of Aviation Science and Technology  and the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
